The foods and beverages we eat and drink play a major role in whether our bodies are acidic or alkaline.  A body that is too acidic becomes a breeding ground for many adult degenerative diseases including high blood pressure, weight gain, diabetes, osteoporosis, yeast/fungal overgrowth, and even cancer. There are two factors that are always present with cancer no matter what else may be present. Those two factors are Acid pH and Lack of Oxygen.

 

Our bodies are designed to consume alkaline foods to function properly. Eating this type of food on a regular basis can help stabilize the pH level of our blood. Since the blood in our bodies is naturally acidic, it is crucial that we have the right amount of alkaline in our bloodstream in order to function properly. Adding more alkaline foods to your diet can help your body perform better and allow it to fight against the harmful effects of oxidation and viruses.

 

The pH range is from 0 to 14, with 7.0 being neutral. Anything above 7.0 is alkaline, anything below 7.0 is considered acidic. A healthy body is slightly alkaline measuring approximately 7.4. 

 

Here are 10 ways to alkalize your body for more energy and vitality:

 

1-Start your day with a warm glass of water with the juice of a whole, freshly-squeezed lemon. While lemons may seem acidic, they have the opposite effect on your body as it metabolizes them.

 

2-Greens and veggies are among the best sources of alkaline 

 

3-Add more sprouts to your daily diet. They are extremely alkalizing and supercharged with nutrients and energy-boosting enzymes.

 

4-Skip the sugar-laden dessert or soda. Sugar is one of the most acidic foods we consume. You need 32 glasses of neutral water just to neutralize the acidity of ONE can of soda.

 

5-Go meat free !

 

6-Avoid dairy products, corn, shellfish, vinegar, peanuts, alcohol.

 

7-Add cinnamon, ginger, and other herbs and spices. Cinnamon is a wonderful alkalizing spice that you can add to just about anything. It’s great with sweet potatoes, apples, or sprinkled in hot tea. Ginger root is also a great alkalizer and detoxifier that spices up many dishes and makes a tasty, warming winter tea

 

8-Exercise ! It helps move acidic waste products so your body can better eliminate them.

 

9-Breathe deeply !

 

10-Monitor your Urinary pH. Tracking your first morning urine pH (after at least 6 hours of sleep) is a simple and convenient way to know how your nutritional changes are affecting your body. ( You can order pH test strips thru Amazon or many other web sites )
